Group Generator is built to hold as little of your data as possible. The short version: no accounts, no uploads, nothing stored on any server.

What stays on your device

Every tool runs entirely in your browser. Class lists you paste or save live in your browser's local storage on this device; clearing browser data (or using the in-tool delete buttons) removes them permanently. Nothing you type — names, lists, picks — is ever transmitted to or stored on a server.

What the site stores

The site has no accounts and keeps no user records. Like most websites, the hosting layer may process standard technical request logs (IP address, user agent) for security and reliability; those logs are not used to profile visitors and are not shared or sold.

Student data, plainly

The local-only design exists precisely because class lists contain real children's names: lists that never leave the device cannot leak from a server. Please keep it that way by using the tool on school-trusted devices and clearing saved lists at the end of the year if your school's data policy asks.
